If you mouse over the bottom bar's buttons, you don't see the tool tip. flex flex The flex CSS shorthand property sets how a flex item will grow or shrink to fit the space available in its flex container. If you mouse over the top ButtonBar's buttons you'll see the tool tip. The second array of Objects (dp2) that is the data provider for the bottom mx:ButtonBar uses "tooltip" as the field name. You'll see that the first array of Objects (dp1) that is the data provider for the top mx:ButtonBar uses "toolTip" as the field name. Right click on the example application to view the source. The typical use for a button bar is for grouping a set of related buttons together, which gives them a common look and navigation, and handling the logic for the change event in a single place. You can display a test of this by visiting my button bar example. The ButtonBar control defines a horizontal group of logically related buttons with a common look and navigation. With descendant selectors, you can specify a style for any child of a given parent type (at any level). Once I made that change, my tool tips appeared. In Flex 4, styling just the selected button of a Gumbo ButtonBar is much easier using a combination of the new Advanced CSS selector types: descendant and pseudo selectors. However, my tool tips were not showing up.Īfter some testing, I learned that the tooltip field must be named "toolTip" (note the second T is upper case) and not "tooltip" as the Flex documentation stated.
